Integrated Pest Management utilizes the following components:

INSPECTION, SANITATION, ENGINEERING CONTROLS, CHEMICAL CONTROLS

INSPECTION

1. A thorough flashlight inspection is performed to first determine the target pest and the level of infestation.

1. Covering or moving food away from pests.

2. Cleaning floor and sink drains

3. Cleaning floors, walls and ceilings if necessary.

4. Using dedicated areas for handling food, serving food, etc.

ENGINEERING CONTROLS

1. Inspection - Find ways to improve facility or home to help make is pest resistant.

2. Address pest pressures - educating clients to help make their environments hostile to pests.

3. Sealing cracks, holes, crevices to exclude pests, remove spider webs.

4. Setting environmental temperature levels to create a hostile environment for pests.

CHEMICAL CONTROLS

1. Various chemicals to help control pests.
